Doctor shortage forces temporary shutdown from Jan. 16-17<\/p>\n
The North Shore Health Network is getting ready for a temporary closure of the Emergency Department at its Thessalon site because of doctor shortages.<\/p>\n
This is expected to take place starting at 8 a.m. on Jan. 16 and ending Jan. 17 at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n
Following is the complete news release issued this morning.<\/p>\n
Thessalon Site The North Shore Health Network (NSHN) is informing the community of upcoming temporary closures of the Emergency Department at the following locations due to physician shortages:<\/p>\n
\n\tTHESSALON SITE: From 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16 and reopening at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911. Ambulances will be re-routed to one of the following closest Emergency Departments to the Thessalon Site: <\/p>\n
\n\tBlind River Site \u2013 North Shore Health Network \u2013 525 Causley St., Blind River
\n\tRichards Landing Site \u2013 North Shore Health Network \u2013 1180 Richards St., Richards Landing
\n\tSault Area Hospital \u2013 750 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie.

Efforts to find coverage are ongoing and should a physician be secured NSHN will reverse the closure and update the community as soon as possible.
