The Seattle Mariners<\/a> clearly felt their MLB bullpen could use an upgrade.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, they made a trade with the Cincinnati Reds<\/a> trading away a pitching prospect for a major league arm.<\/p>\n

The Mariners announced<\/a> the deal Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

Coming to Seattle: right-handed pitcher Yosver Zulueta.<\/p>\n

The Reds are getting righty Dusty Revis.<\/p>\n

The Mariners had to designate infielder Samad Taylor for assignment to clear space on the 40-man roster.<\/p>\n

Zulueta is 27 years old and has made 19 MLB appearances over the past two seasons.<\/p>\n

His ERA in those stints is 5.32, and he has 25 strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitching.<\/p>\n

Zulueta is 6-foot-1 and averages 96.3 miles per hour on his fastball. He’s originally from Cuba and first signed with the Blue Jays in 2019.<\/p>\n

The player the Mariners traded to the Reds, Revis, is a 22-year old right-hander who was an 11th-round pick in the 2025 MLB Draft out of Western Carolina. Revis has yet to make his professional pitching debut.<\/p>\n

The Mariners had to expose Taylor to waivers to make room for Zulueta. He’s a versatile defender who could draw interest. In 2025 in Triple-A, Taylor hit .296 with 124 runs scored, 27 doubles, seven triples, 17 homers, 86 RBI, 44 steals and 73 walks.<\/p>\n
