McGregor, who hasn\u2019t fought since a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, announced his comeback plans last year, not long after the news broke about the White House card.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Michael Chandler being the most likely option for McGregor\u2019s comeback, the former two-division UFC champion has opened up the doors to other options in recent weeks. One of whom is Floyd Mayweather Jr., whom McGregor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/conor-mcgregor\/conor-mcgregor-new-opponent-planned-white-house-ufc-comeback\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">called out for an MMA fight<\/a>, promising a 10-second win.<\/p>\n<p>McGregor vs. Chandler seemed like the most logical fight to headline the UFC White House card this summer. But, not so fast, says UFC CEO Dana White.<\/p>\n<p>Dana White\u2019s shutdown of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight raises eyebrows<\/p>\n<p>In a recent sitdown with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gt7GEetDphE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Complex<\/a>, White was asked about the UFC\u2019s plans for McGregor\u2019s comeback and whether or not Chandler was still the targeted opponent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, that was a couple years ago,\u201d White said of McGregor vs. Chandler.<\/p>\n<p>White is referencing the UFC 303 fight cancellation after McGregor withdrew from the scheduled Chandler fight due to a toe injury. He and Chandler competed as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 31.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheNotoriousMMA\/status\/2011913236715540500?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">tweet<\/a>, McGregor seemed to respond to White\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPick who ya want!\u201d McGregor said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Mac sweats nothing and nobody. I\u2019m TASTY SHOTS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McGregor is searching for his first UFC victory since knocking out Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in 2020. He lost back-to-back fights to Poirier in 2021, including his first UFC defeat by knockout at UFC 257.<\/p>\n<p>Chandler has lost five of his last six fights, including most recently against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314.
