Immunization notices have been mailed out to about 3,000 area students.<\/p>\n
All elementary and high\u00a0school students must provide\u00a0Lambton Public\u00a0Health\u00a0with up to date immunization records or proof of exemption, or face suspension from school.<\/p>\n
Lambton Public Health Immunization Team Supervisor Carshenan Lai said they’re looking to hear back from parents and guardians by Tuesday, February 3.<\/p>\n
“So if parents don’t get back to us by February 3, then we send out suspension notices on February 10 and the official suspension day is March 10,” said Lai.<\/p>\n
Records include immunizations for diphtheria, tetanus, polio, mumps, rubella, measles, meningitis, whooping cough and chickenpox.<\/p>\n
“So its important that parents know that immunizations are not automatically reported to the health unit and we do have multiple options to report,” said Lai.<\/p>\n
Records can be updated online through LPH’s website<\/a>, by phone at\u00a0226-254-8222 or in person at Lambton Public Health at 160 Exmouth Street.<\/p>\n If your child still requires an immunization, you’re advised to contact your health care provider or visit Lambton Public Health’s website<\/a> for more information.\u00a0<\/p>\n
