Roginsky unloaded on Jennings<\/a> in a viral blog post, torching him for \u201chow he behaves\u201d and \u201cwhat he contributes\u201d while also accusing CNN of promoting bad-faith punditry. The pair, who have both appeared on CNN NewsNight have clashed on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n In the piece published to Substack on Monday<\/a>, she openly acknowledged the professional risk of speaking out, starting with: \u201cI\u2019m fairly confident that this column will get me banned from CNN\u2019s airwaves.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cCNN once sold itself as the grown-up in the room. It was the network you turned to when the stakes got real. That reputation \u2013 earned over decades \u2013 was built on restraint, seriousness, and a basic respect for viewers,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWhich is why CNN\u2019s continued reliance on Scott Jennings is not just baffling, but corrosive to its brand.\u201d<\/p>\n While backing the idea that the network should \u201crightly\u201d platform conservatives, she accused Jennings of failing to engage in \u201cspirited debate\u201d and instead a performance.<\/p>\n \u201cOn air, Jennings does not debate; he blathers. He talks over women with particular frequency, interrupts relentlessly, and treats panel discussions as contests of volume and obstinacy, rather than as exchanges of ideas. He mugs to the camera and rolls his eyes, while calling any fact he does not like a lie. It is performative obstruction \u2013 the cable news equivalent of flipping the board when you\u2019re losing the game,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n Roginsky followed by arguing that CNN \u201conce prided itself on fact-checking in real time\u201d but said the network now \u201clets falsehoods linger in the air, unanswered, as long as they are delivered with sufficient bluster.\u201d<\/p>\n Attacking Jennings, she described him as \u201can insecure little boy\u201d who takes to social media after his panel appearances and \u201cselectively edits clips to make it look like he \u201cowned\u201d whomever he was debating.\u201d She added that he was \u201ctoo chickensh*t to post the whole segment that would expose the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n Her criticism quickly widened from Jennings to CNN\u2019s editorial judgment.
