Mike Tyson <\/a>is looking to inflict some serious damage on Floyd Mayweather<\/a> when they meet for their planned March exhibition in Africa. <\/p>\n

\u201cFloyd wanted to fight me \u2026 it looks like he\u2019s going to get knocked out,\u201d Tyson recently told Hard Rock Bet. \u201cIt\u2019s going to supersede all the fights and all the glory he had before this. This is taking boxing to a new level. Almost God status.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyson is envisioning a more competitive performance in the clash after having a hard time mounting any serious momentum against Jake Paul<\/a> in November 2024. <\/p>\n

Heading into the Paul pitting, a fight that was officially ruled as a loss on Tyson\u2019s professional record, Tyson survived a scary ulcer flare-up in which he said he \u201clost lost half my blood\u201d and \u201calmost died.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI feel good right now. This is the best I\u2019ve felt. I can\u2019t wait to start getting in the ring. I learned [a lot] from my last fight,\u201d said Tyson. <\/p>\n

\u201cI left a lot of my fight in the gym. I worked too hard. I was too intense. I was too extreme. I need to relax more. That\u2019s what I always believe. I need to relax more \u2026 I\u2019m getting more and more confident, and I believe I\u2019ll be better in the next fight coming up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyson, 59, also elaborated if his matchup against the soon-to-be 49-year-old Mayweather is a personal one to settle a beef. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, I think I got a pretty decent relationship with him,\u201d said Tyson. \u201cI don\u2019t hate him. … I don\u2019t have any harsh feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2015, when Mayweather made bold claims that he was the best boxer of all time, and even greater than Muhammad Ali. The declaration rubbed Tyson the wrong way and he was compelled to connect with a stiff counterpunch. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s very delusional,\u201d Tyson said at the time. \u201cListen, if he was anywhere near that realm of great as Muhammad Ali, he\u2019d be able to take his kids to school by himself. He can\u2019t take his kids to school by himself, and he\u2019s talking about he\u2019s great? Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. Greatness is being accepted by the people. He can\u2019t take his kids alone to school by himself. He\u2019s a little scared man. He\u2019s a very small, scared man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that they\u2019re putting hands on each other in what once seemed as an improbable idea, Tyson is singing somewhat of a different tune toward Mayweather.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, he\u2019s big time, there\u2019s no doubt about it,\u201d said Tyson. \u201cHe definitely reigns with the greats, there\u2019s no doubt. He put in his work.\u201d<\/p>\n
