WNBA star Angel Reese has officially joined the cast of “The Hunting Wives” for its upcoming second season, months after sharing her passionate reaction to the Netflix hit.

Reese and the streamer made the announcement in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, showing her sitting in a director’s chair on the set.

The 23-year-old followed that up with a photo of her posing outside her trailer, captioning the shot “Trainer Barbie” — a reference to her nicknames “Bayou Barbie” and “Chi Barbie,” from her times playing with the LSU Tigers and Chicago Sky.

Another post showed a cute clip of her and actor George Ferrier practicing their new friendship handshake behind the scenes.

It’s unclear exactly how Reese will fold into the plot of the series, though the photos show her donning what appears to be a Baylor University shirt. Ferrier’s character of Brad Thompson was preparing to go to Baylor on a basketball scholarship in season 1.

The role comes nearly six months after Reese took to social media to express how “CRAZYYYY but good” the “Hunting Wives” is. After series creator Rebecca Cutter thanked Reese for tuning in, the power forward replied, “Just let me know if you need me for season 2.”

The gig marks another step in Reese’s onscreen journey. She previously made an appearance as herself in “A House of Dynamite,” alongside Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson, which sparked her interest in acting.

“I’m going to hire an acting coach,” she told People in September. “I model already, so it’s like adding to the résumé. I’m young right now, so I’m going to do it while I’m young.”

Starring Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, “The Hunting Wives” quickly became a breakout success for Netflix after premiering in July 2025.

The upcoming second season is currently in production, though a premiere date has not yet been set.
