J.T. Miller<\/a> scored twice, and Mika Zibanejad<\/a> had an assist to extend his point streak to 10 games for the Rangers (21-24-6), who have lost 10 of their past 12 (2-8-2). Jonathan Quick<\/a> made 23 saves.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a pretty hard-fought game,\u201d Miller said. \u201cWe just had a couple mistakes that cost us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kempe gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead 18 seconds into the first period on a sharp-angle one-timer from the goal line below the right circle off Brandt Clarke<\/a>\u2019s pass.<\/p>\n

Corey Perry<\/a> had the secondary assist in his return after missing three games to attend to an ill family member.<\/p>\n

Will Cuylle<\/a> tied it 1-1 at 8:18 when he redirected Scott Morrow<\/a>\u2019s shot that hit Kuemper in the mask, and the rebound went in off Jacob Moverare<\/a>\u2019s skate five-hole.<\/p>\n

Fiala gave the Kings a 2-1 lead at 9:00, picking off Vladislav Gavrikov<\/a>\u2019s pass through the slot and scoring on a wrist shot from close range.<\/p>\n

Miller tied it 2-2 at 16:36, charging the crease to put in Zibanejad\u2019s centering pass from below the right circle.<\/p>\n

Zibanejad has 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in his past 10 games, which is tied for the longest point streak of his NHL career (Dec. 10-30, 2023).<\/p>\n

Taylor Ward<\/a> put Los Angeles back ahead 3-2 at 4:23 of the second period on his first goal of the season in eight games. After Jeff Malott<\/a> dug the puck out of the corner and Rangers defenseman Braden Schneider<\/a> was unable to knock it away, Ward scored on a wrist shot from the right circle.<\/p>\n

The Kings then killed a 5-on-3 power play before Kuzmenko extended it to 4-2 at 12:37 when he backhanded in Fiala\u2019s rebound.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I thought we won the game by killing that off,\u201d Forsberg said of the Rangers\u2019 two-man advantage for 1:35. \u201cEvery time you kill off a 5-on-3, it brings a lot of energy, and I thought we did a really good job of getting that off the books.
