Roberts Jr. of the Tuscaloosa Circuit Court, enabling him to be active for Alabama\u2019s game against Tennessee on Saturday, while also ruling that the NCAA is &#8220;restrained from threatening, imposing, attempting to impose, suggesting or implying any penalties or sanctions&#8221; against Bediako, the school, or the Tide\u2019s coaches and players.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6m\">Bediako played for Alabama from 2021-23 before declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft after his sophomore season \u2013 the same year former Auburn guard Wendell Green Jr. declared for the draft.\u00a0 Bediako went undrafted, but ultimately signed contracts with the San Antonio Spurs and, later, the Denver Nuggets, who he represented in the G-League for a couple of years.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6p\">&#8220;These attempts to sidestep NCAA rules and recruit individuals who have finished their time in college or signed NBA contracts are taking away opportunities from high school students,&#8221; the NCAA said in an official statement on Wednesday. &#8220;A judge ordering the NCAA let a former NBA player take the court Saturday against actual college student-athletes is exactly why Congress must step in and empower college sports to enforce our eligibility rules.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-11\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6s\">In his initial complaint versus the NCAA, Bediako pointed to now-Baylor center James Nnaji, who was cleared to play in college earlier this season after being drafted in 2023 and playing in both the NBA summer league and overseas.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-12\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6v\">However, the situations are slightly different, as this is the first time a player, who had already played college basketball, entered the draft and signed an NBA contract but was allowed to return to college down the road.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-13\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6y\">It has become somewhat clear that the NCAA is a mess in recent years, but this makes the water even murkier for someone wishing to gauge what is and isn\u2019t allowed anymore.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-14\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"71\">Because at this rate, why can\u2019t Auburn have one of its former players come back and suit up in the orange and blue again?<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-15\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"74\">What stops Steven Pearl from calling Jared Harper or Bryce Brown, the two star guards that led Auburn to its first Final Four in 2019, and ask them to sue the NCAA and gain a immediate eligibility from a local judge?<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-16\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"77\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/stats\/_\/id\/4066248\/type\/mens-college-basketball\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harper only played three seasons<\/a> for the Tigers, meaning he has one more year of eligibility remaining, in theory.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-17\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7a\">How about Denver Jones and Chaney Johnson?
