<\/p>\nAlan Carr and Amanda Holden have revealed BBC executives previously approached them about taking over as presenters of Strictly Come Dancing, but the pair declined the offer.<\/p>\n
The television duo made the disclosure during an appearance on the Table Manners podcast, hosted by Jessie Ware and Lennie Ware.<\/p>\n
When Mr Ware asked whether they would be fronting the dance competition together, Mr Carr replied bluntly: \u201cNo, we said no ages ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
The confirmation comes after months of speculation over who would succeed Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who stepped down from the flagship Saturday-night programme following last December\u2019s series finale.<\/p>\n

Ms Daly had presented Strictly since its launch in 2004, initially alongside the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, before Ms Winkleman joined as co-host in 2014.<\/p>\n
Ms Holden had already addressed the speculation in December during her Heart Radio Breakfast show.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to say now that me and Alan are 100 per cent not doing Strictly,\u201d Ms Holden told listeners. \u201cWe are so flattered to be in that mix, but we\u2019re not doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reports had suggested the celebrity friends were among the BBC\u2019s preferred candidates to fill the presenting vacancy, with their on-screen chemistry attracting considerable attention through their joint projects.<\/p>\n

Sources say the broadcaster was also keen to capitalise on Mr Carr\u2019s surge in popularity following his recent win on Celebrity Traitors, although scheduling conflicts, including his planned 2027 stand-up tour, were believed to be a complicating factor.<\/p>\n
During the podcast conversation, Mr Carr also addressed speculation his Channel 4 chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man could be revived.<\/p>\n
When asked about a potential return, Mr Carr dismissed the reports as \u201cclickbait\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would be nice to do a chat show, I don\u2019t know, but no one\u2019s approached me or anything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Carr quipped having \u201cdone it all\u201d on television, he might consider launching an OnlyFans account.<\/p>\n
When asked what content he would share, he joked: \u201cMy feet, I\u2019ve got lovely feet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Holden laughed and suggested there would be a market for it, but added: \u201cMy husband says I look lovely until I get to my ankles, then my feet are like sausages that have been hit by a mallet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rather than stepping into the Strictly ballroom, the pair are currently focused on overseas renovation projects.<\/p>\n
Their latest BBC series, Amanda and Alan\u2019s Greek Job, sees Mr Carr and Ms Holden transforming a property on the island of Corfu.<\/p>\n
