MILWAUKEE \u2014 Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> coach Doc Rivers says Kevin Porter Jr.<\/a> is “not going to play anytime soon\u201d from an oblique strain that made him unavailable for a Wednesday night game with the Oklahoma City Thunder.<\/p>\n

Rivers didn’t specify a potential return date for Porter.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s not going to play anytime soon, I can tell you that, but we don’t know how long he’ll be out,\u201d Rivers said at his pregame availability.<\/p>\n

Rivers said he believes the injury happened \u201cthree or four games ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was playing through it,\u201d Rivers said. \u201cYou could see him in the last two or three games grabbing it. They did an MRI yesterday, and it is what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old Porter has averaged 16.8 points, five rebounds and a team-high 7.4 assists over 28 games this season. He ranks second on the team in scoring.<\/p>\n

The six-foot-five guard had missed 19 games earlier this season due to ankle and knee injuries. He\u00a0sprained his left ankle\u00a0in the Bucks\u2019 season opener, hurt his right knee while working his way back and ended up undergoing surgery for a\u00a0meniscus tear.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee also didn\u2019t have Myles Turner<\/a> available Wednesday due to a sprained left ankle.
