Mary Cosby directly addressed the TLC documentary about herself and her church, and she\u2019s apparently not that bothered. On the second reunion episode<\/a> of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six, Cosby said she was hurt by family members participating in TLC\u2019s The Cult of a Real Housewife<\/a>. \u201cIt hurt me, of course,\u201d Cosby told Andy Cohen. \u201cDefinitely hurt me. But I\u2019ve been through a lot, Andy. I\u2019m pretty tough. So it hurt, and it just got put in the pile of all the rest of the things that hurt me.\u201d <\/p>\n The Cult of a Real Housewife premiered on TLC on New Year\u2019s Day. The doc asserts that Cosby, alongside her step-grandfather turned husband, financially and spiritually exploit the members of their Faith Temple Pentecostal church. One person claimed they had lived with the Cosbys for years, working for no pay as a housekeeper. The doc also goes through the church\u2019s history, including its founding by Mary\u2019s grandmother Rosemary \u201cMama\u201d Cosby.\u00a0Mary\u2019s sister Denise Jefferson\u00a0Odinaka and Mary\u2019s cousin\u00a0Dan Cosby both participated in the filming.<\/p>\n In Bravo circles, the doc was a blip, perhaps because these issues had already been brought up in RHOSLC season two. Former Faith Temple attendee Cameron Williams spoke to Lisa Barlow about Cosby. \u201cIs it a cult? Yes. Does she call herself \u2018God\u2019? Yes,\u201d he said at the time. Williams died in 2021, and Cosby skipped that year\u2019s reunion, in part because she didn\u2019t want to \u201ctalk about this guy who has passed.\u201d<\/p>\n At this year\u2019s reunion, Cosby said she thinks people in Utah throw aspersions on her church due to cultural misunderstanding. \u201cI think it\u2019s because of the policy and the rules and the different things that our church does,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re not used to a Pentecostal church in Utah.
