Is there anything you should do differently?\n<\/p>\n<p>In most cases, not really. Your phone will be fine unless you\u2019re heading into extreme cold, where hardware can struggle and cameras may stop behaving normally.\n<\/p>\n<p>That said, it depends on how cold it gets and which device you\u2019re using.\n<\/p>\n<p>Samsung notes that Galaxy phones <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/support\/galaxy-battery\/care-and-maintenance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">work best between 0 and 35 degrees<\/a> Celsius (32\u201395 Fahrenheit), though that range is fairly conservative. You can absolutely use your phone outside those limits, but that\u2019s where quirks can show up. In freezing temperatures, you might notice:\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFaster battery drain\n<\/p>\n<p>\nReduced touchscreen responsiveness\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSlower overall performance\n<\/p>\n<p>Not all phones react the same way. Foldables, in particular, are more vulnerable in the cold. Materials stiffen as temperatures drop, and repeatedly folding or unfolding a cold display can increase the risk of damage.\n<\/p>\n<p>Samsung ran some tests. The Galaxy Z Fold 7\u2019s inner screen is rated for up to 500,000 folds at optimal temperatures. At -20 degrees Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit), that number can drop dramatically, to around 60,000 folds.\n<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, here are a few simple tips worth remembering if you\u2019re using your Galaxy phone in cold weather:\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAvoid charging your phone while it\u2019s cold. This can accelerate battery wear.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTo reduce condensation risk, don\u2019t run demanding apps when the phone feels freezing on the outside.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nKeep your phone in a warm inside pocket whenever possible.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nConsider using a case for extra insulation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWearing gloves? Enable Touch sensitivity under Settings &gt; Display for better responsiveness.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTry not to fold or unfold foldable phones in freezing temperatures.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nLet your phone gradually warm up before using it, and especially before unfolding it.\n<\/p>\n<p>Nothing dramatic, just a little winter common sense for your phone. It&#8217;s not worth losing sleep over worries about phones in cold weather, but keep in mind that consumer electronics don&#8217;t like extreme temperatures and sudden temperature swings, and take the appropriate precautions.
