Injured wingers William Nylander<\/a> and Dakota Joshua<\/a> returned to the ice for the first time since being sidelined, skating ahead of a cancelled team practice.<\/p>\n

However, their timelines to return to game action remain unclear, per head coach Craig Berube.<\/p>\n

While Nylander’s recovery remains up in the air, Joshua is still out for the foreseeable future, the coach said.<\/p>\n

Nylander has missed four straight games with a groin injury suffered against the Vegas Golden Knights during a road trip earlier in January.<\/p>\n

The Swede, who is set to play for his country at the Olympics, still leads the team with 48 points despite appearing in only 37 games.<\/p>\n

It marks the second time Nylander has dealt with a lower-body injury this season, previously returning on Jan. 10 after a six-game absence.<\/p>\n

Joshua, who has a kidney injury, had not skated publicly since Dec. 28.<\/p>\n

The forward has endured a rough return to the Maple Leafs after an off-season trade, managing just six goals and four assists in 36 games while dealing with multiple injuries himself.<\/p>\n

Toronto returns to action for a Sunday matinee against the Colorado Avalanche (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 1:30 p.m. ET \/ 10:30 a.m. PT).<\/p>\n
