The story ends with her in the emergency room\u2014here\u2019s how we got there.<\/p>\n In a series of viral videos with collectively more than 30 million views, content creator and bodybuilder Alison Doyle (@tismpump_) shares the horrifying situation she just had to deal with.<\/p>\n \u201cMy day is f\u2014\u2014 ruined,\u201d she says, holding the camera while explaining how she walked into the downstairs bathroom and found what she thought was a leftover\u2014clears throat\u2014turd.<\/p>\n But upon closer inspection, she was horrified to see that it was actually a baby bat<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI tried to touch it to see if it was alive,\u201d she says, explaining that she would have been down to fish it out and nurse it back to health.<\/p>\n She would have gone as far out of her way as getting a baby bottle to feed the wild animal milk until it got stronger. But when she poked it, it was clear that the bat was gonezo. She debated hosting a shoebox funeral complete with a bedazzled box and a Hot Cross Buns recorder performance\u2014but she didn\u2019t have the tools, let alone the mental strength, for all that.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is like the one time I need a man,\u201d she jokes.<\/p>\n Alone and overwhelmed, Doyle called her mom, who phoned a friend, who told her their best bet was to flush it.<\/p>\n You may be thinking the bat was too big to be flushable. That\u2019s where you\u2019re wrong. \u201cIt\u2019s definitely smaller than the biggest poop I\u2019ve taken,\u201d Doyle shares.<\/p>\n How\u2019d She End Up In An Emergency Room?<\/p>\n What started as toilet trauma turned into a potential medical emergency.<\/p>\n Doyle didn\u2019t initially think much of the incident after the unceremonious flushing. However, she started to get concerned when she saw comments rolling in about how she could have contracted rabies from the animal without even being aware she was ever bitten.<\/p>\n In a follow-up clip, Doyle is in the emergency room of a hospital, looking visibly distressed.<\/p>\n \u201cI found a dead bat in my toilet. I posted it on TikTok. And I had, like, 100 people telling me I should get a rabies shot,\u201d she tells a nurse.<\/p>\n She explains that she\u2019s autistic and struggles with everyday tasks, let alone navigating a medical crisis. Still, she checked herself in, bracing for what would likely be an hours-long wait.<\/p>\n \u201cSend help,\u201d she wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n And based on her many follow-up videos, it seems Doyle is doing fine and did in fact opt for the anti-rabies shot.<\/p>\n In an Instagram direct message to BroBible, Doyle clarified two things: The bat was already dead before it was flushed, and their mention at the hospital of being autistic was to underscore the severity of her condition during a hospital visit.<\/p>\n Doyle explained that as an autistic content creator, they often face misconceptions about autism and wanted to emphasize that it exists on a spectrum with varying support needs.<\/p>\n \u201cAutism is a spectrum, and it looks different on everybody, and I was saying that so that I could potentially get accommodated, and it ended up resulting in me getting the best hospital experience and the best accommodations I\u2019ve ever gotten,\u201d Doyle shared.<\/p>\n Why Bat Encounters Aren\u2019t Funny To Health Officials<\/p>\n Experts say finding a bat indoors\u2014dead or alive\u2014is serious business.<\/p>\n Rabies, a viral disease transmitted through saliva and bites, is almost always fatal once symptoms begin. Bats are the leading cause of rabies deaths in the U.S. and Canada. \u201cRabies is a fatal but preventable viral disease,\u201d the Centers for Disease Control states.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you encounter a bat in your home, think carefully before you release it outdoors. The bat might have exposed a person or pet to rabies, and might need to be tested,\u201d the LA County Department of Public Health reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n That\u2019s because bat bites can be so small they\u2019re often undetectable.<\/p>\n In this case, even if she wasn\u2019t bitten, the mystery of how the bat got there\u2014and whether it came into contact with her\u2014was enough to prompt concern.
