The event takes place April 4 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Shehbazyan was poised to have a rapid rise up the middleweight rankings after earning a contract on Dana White\u2019s Contender Series, and after winning his first four fights \u2014 including three straight first-round knockouts \u2014 it looked it would happen. However, Shahbazyan experienced some growing pains against higher-ranked competition losing five of his next seven bouts, with four stoppage losses to Derek Brunson, Nassourdine Imavov, Anthony Hernandez and Gerald Meerschaert.
