A man is dead after a targeted shooting in Vaughan on Monday afternoon, York police say. <\/p>\n
The incident happened in the Weston and Rowntree Dairy roads<\/a> area at around 1:08 p.m, investigators say.<\/p>\n The victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds and brought to hospital where he died, police say. <\/p>\n SHOOTING IN VAUGHAN \u2014 York Regional Police (@YRP) January 26, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n Police are \u201cconfident in saying (the shooting) was targeted,\u201d but were unsure why, media relations officer PC Kevin Nebrija said Monday.<\/p>\n Investigators report a call for a vehicle fire in the area of Kipling and Woodbridge avenue<\/a> area. They say they are trying to determine if the two incidents are connected. <\/p>\n So far no suspect description has been released, but police say a suspect vehicle is described as a black SUV.<\/p>\n There will be a large police presence and road closures in the area, police advised.<\/p>\n
