Bayern Munich<\/a> and Harry Kane<\/a> have opened talks over a new contract, sporting director Max Eberl said on Monday.<\/p>\n

Kane’s current deal runs until the summer of 2027 and the Bundesliga<\/a> champions are in talks with the England<\/a> captain over a new contract until 2028 or 2029.<\/p>\n

“We are talking to Harry,” Eberl told Sky Germany.<\/p>\n

“Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made,” he added.<\/p>\n

Kane has shone for Bayern since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> in the summer of 2023 for around \u00a3100 million ($136m).<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old has scored 119 goals in 126 appearances and last month became the fastest player to reach 100 goal contributions in Bundesliga history.<\/p>\n

“Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich. He and his family are settled in. Therefore we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush,” Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said.<\/p>\n

Kane is England’s all-time leading scorer with 78 goals in 112 games, and his Premier League<\/a> total of 213 for Spurs is 47 behind the competition’s top marksman Alan Shearer.<\/p>\n
