While Toronto eventually lost in seven games to the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>, Clement had a playoff run to remember.<\/p>\n

He played in all of the Blue Jays’ 18 games in the postseason, batting .411 with a .977 OPS, 13 runs, six doubles, one home run and nine RBIs. Clement had 30 base hits in those games, which set a new single postseason MLB<\/a> record.<\/p>\n

This incredible success in the playoffs caught many baseball fans off guard, as Clement became one of the most surprising heroes in recent Blue Jays history.<\/p>\n

In his regular season career, Clement has played in 434 games, slashing .260\/.295\/.376 with an OPS of .671 to go along with 25 long balls and 126 RBIs. The 29-year-old was selected in the fourth round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians, where he played 103 games.<\/p>\n

In 2026, Clement will be entering his fourth year with the Blue Jays, as he signed a one-year, $4.6 million contract<\/a> this offseason to avoid arbitration.<\/p>\n

On Monday, MLB announced the top 10 second basemen in the majors based on fan votes on the league’s X account, and Clement was honored at No. 5.<\/p>\n

“Here is how YOU voted for the top 10 second basemen in the Majors!” the caption read.<\/p>\n

This post from MLB came after Clement was named as an honorable mention in MLB Network’s top 10 at the second base position, according to The Shredder<\/a>.<\/p>\n
