{"id":437630,"date":"2026-01-28T01:52:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T01:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/437630\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T01:52:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T01:52:06","slug":"mario-barrios-vs-ryan-garcia-undercard-announced-with-two-more-world-title-fights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/437630\/","title":{"rendered":"Mario Barrios vs Ryan Garcia undercard announced with two more world title fights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mario Barrios vs Ryan Garcia undercard has been confirmed, and it boasts two additional world title contests.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Garcia failed when he challenged for Rolando Romero\u2019s WBA Regular Welterweight World title in his first fight back from a doping ban last May, <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/rolando-romero-drops-and-shocks-ryan-garcia-in-new-york\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">losing a points decision despite entering the contest as the favourite<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that, the 27-year-old has been greenlit for a second consecutive title shot, as he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/c4g42gpqezjo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">collides with WBC world champion Mario Barrios at the T-Mobile Arena<\/a> in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 21.<\/p>\n<p>Should Garcia be successful against \u2018El Azteca\u2019, a major fight is expected to take place during the second half of the 2026 calendar, either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazn.com\/en-US\/news\/boxing\/benn-the-wbc-welterweight-barrios-vs-garcia-president-sulaiman\/v42qzec6lyay1549xapufk91k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">against Conor Benn<\/a>, the victor of Lopez-Stevenson or a grudge match rematch against another welterweight champion in Devin Haney.<\/p>\n<p>However, after underwhelming against Romero, Garcia will know he must keep his eyes on the prize and not allow thoughts about what may come post-Barrios to enter his mind. Barrios, on the other hand, is looking to keep ahold of his belt with a statement win, having only retained it with draws so far against Abel Ramos and Manny Pacquiao respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the co-main event, Richardson Hitchins will defend his IBF super-lightweight world title for the second time.
