{"id":438042,"date":"2026-01-28T06:20:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T06:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/438042\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T06:20:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T06:20:08","slug":"thunder-104-95-pelicans-jan-27-2026-game-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/438042\/","title":{"rendered":"Thunder 104-95 Pelicans (Jan 27, 2026) Game Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OKLAHOMA CITY &#8212; \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4278073\/shai-gilgeous-alexander\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/a> scored 29 points and the short-handed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/team\/_\/name\/okc\/oklahoma-city-thunder\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a> beat the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/team\/_\/name\/no\/new-orleans-pelicans\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Orleans Pelicans<\/a> 104-95 on Tuesday night to avoid their first three-game skid of the season.<\/p>\n<p>              <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4433255\/chet-holmgren\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chet Holmgren<\/a> had 20 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for NBA-best Oklahoma City (38-10), which had lost back-to-back home games for the first time this season. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4395702\/isaiah-joe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah Joe<\/a> added 17 points.<\/p>\n<p>              The Thunder were missing starters <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4593803\/jalen-williams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jalen Williams<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4222252\/isaiah-hartenstein\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah Hartenstein<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4683692\/cason-wallace\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cason Wallace<\/a> and key reserve <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/2991350\/alex-caruso\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Caruso<\/a> with injuries.<\/p>\n<p>              Gilgeous-Alexander shot 8 of 22 from the field but went 13 of 14 from the foul line. He scored at least 20 points for the 118th consecutive game, the second-longest streak in NBA history.<\/p>\n<p>              <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4395628\/zion-williamson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zion Williamson<\/a> led New Orleans with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 11 rebounds. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4397136\/saddiq-bey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saddiq Bey<\/a> added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Pelicans, who had won two straight.<\/p>\n<p>              Tempers flared in the closing minutes. First, Bey and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4432823\/jaylin-williams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jaylin Williams<\/a> got tangled up and were assessed technical fouls. With 9 seconds left, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/5144091\/jeremiah-fears\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremiah Fears<\/a>, who played in college at Oklahoma, and Lu Dort grabbed each other\u2019s jerseys before being separated. Fears then ran after Dort and players from both teams had to be separated.<\/p>\n<p>              The Thunder missed their first eight shots while New Orleans started 1 of 9.<\/p>\n<p>              Dort&#8217;s 3-pointer with 10.9 seconds left in the second quarter gave the Thunder a 48-46 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>              The Thunder took a 74-64 lead on a 3-pointer by Holmgren with 3:38 left in the third. A 3 by Dort made it 88-73.<\/p>\n<p>              The Pelicans went on a 14-2 run capped by Fears&#8217; 22-foot bank shot to cut the lead to 92-87.
