Seven people were killed and three injured in a multi-vehicle crash shortly after 1 p.m. near Timisoara, Romania, on Tuesday. Most of the victims were under 30 and were traveling from Greece to France to attend Thursday\u2019s Europa League match between PAOK and Lyon.<\/p>\n

Their black minivan crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a passing truck in a head-on collision. Four vehicles were involved: the minivan, a truck, a tanker carrying alcohol, and a passenger car.<\/p>\n

The route, through Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, is commonly used by PAOK supporters to avoid long waits at non-EU borders.<\/p>\n

Video shows the van overtaking the tanker, signaling right, swerving, signaling left again and colliding violently with the truck. The stretch is known locally as a \u201croad of death,\u201d narrow, undivided and lacking barriers.<\/p>\n
