To perform her new single, \u201cChanel,\u201d on Thursday\u2019s \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,\u201d Tyla<\/a> wore a look from the French house that inspired the song.<\/p>\n

The \u201cWater\u201d singer and Grammy Award-winning artist sported a design created by Matthieu Blazy for Chanel<\/a>\u2019s spring 2026 collection<\/a>. Unlike the ensemble modeled on the runway, Tyla<\/a> put a sensual spin on her performance attire, stripping the look back and opting to wear the cardigan off her shoulders.<\/p>\n

The see-through look was a wholly original take from Blazy on Chanel\u2019s tweed and skirt suit design codes, made famous by the eponymous designer and founder. Crafted in red and white, the look was further embellished with layered jewelry, which Tyla replicated in her interpretation.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Pandora brand ambassador<\/a>\u00a0wore a black bra top and added a pair of pointed-toe, strappy black heels to complete her ensemble. Tyla\u2019s glam included bobbed hair and cornrows with bold makeup, featuring smokey eyes. Stylist Ron Hartleben curated the singer\u2019s late night look.<\/p>\n

Tyla\u2019s Chanel ensemble made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week in October 2025. Curated by Blazy, who was named the creative director for the maison in 2024 following the departure of Virginie Viard, the collection signaled a new chapter for Chanel, and a fresh take on the French luxury fashion house\u2019s design codes.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlazy said he was inspired by wheat sheaves, one of Coco\u2019s many lucky charms. Gold versions dangled from a black sack dress, and they appeared as fuzzy allover embroidery on an oatmeal tweed coat,\u201d Joelle Diderich wrote of some of the standout elements in WWD\u2019s review of the collection.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat not all of it was easily digestible worked in Blazy\u2019s favor. Under his predecessor Virginie Viard and the studio team that succeeded her, Chanel relied on brand codes writ large \u2014 witness the giant pearl necklace handbags of its last collection. Blazy literally squished those codes, proposing a complex, layered interpretation that promises to give the brand fresh cultural relevance.\u201d<\/p>\n
