Hollywood\u2019s talked about doing it for years and years, but Chad Stahelski\u2019s<\/a> finally gone and remade Highlander,\u00a0and Henry Cavill<\/a> provided a first look at his version of Connor MacLeod.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy First Look,\u201d wrote Cavill on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cThis has been quite the journey for me, which I\u2019ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it\u2019s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy.\u201d In both pictures, he rocks a trench coat in what looks like a temple and a cathedral, with the second featuring him holding a sheathed katana.<\/p>\n

While exact plot specifics are under wraps, this MacLeod is like prior incarnations in that he\u2019s a 16th-century warrior born in the Scottish Highlands. After dying, he discovers he\u2019s an immortal thanks to the Quickening and fights against others of his kind.<\/p>\n

But according to Stahelski, there are some surprises in store, including a more martial arts-focused<\/a> take on the action and a \u201cdifferent kind of myth\u201d at play from previous installments.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have to wait for more information on\u00a0Highlander\u00a0to see what that all entails. The film\u2019s cast includes Russell Crowe (as Connor\u2019s mentor Ramirez), Drew McIntyre (as Connor\u2019s brother), Djimon Honsou<\/a>, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista<\/a> (as Connor\u2019s nemesis the Kurgan), and Jeremy Irons<\/a> (as a secondary villain).<\/p>\n
