ST. ALBANS \u2014 As part of our ongoing work to digitize our film archives, here is a set of photos taken 50 years ago during this week in January of 1976.<\/p>\n

A boxing match is in full swing! In one photo, a man gets ready to throw a punch while his opponent looks on. From the look of the ceiling, this event was probably held in the Missisquoi Valley Union gymnasium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What do you remember about boxing and gym culture in Franklin County in the 1970s? How does it compare today?<\/p>\n

Check out a community theater performance with costumes and dancing!\u00a0A group of Boy Scouts races Pinewood Derby cars down a wooden track. In one photo, you can see the cars zooming from the start to the end of the track as everyone looks on in excitement.<\/p>\n
