After three short seasons, And Just Like That\u2026<\/a> is coming to an end. On Friday, showrunner, writer, and director Michael Patrick King announced that the current season of the Sex and the City reboot will be its last. \u201cSJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn\u2019t want the word \u2018final\u2019 to overshadow the fun of watching the season,\u201d he wrote<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the announcement, Sarah Jessica Parker took the opportunity to write out an extremely long poem mourning the show and her character, Carrie Bradshaw, alongside a montage of images from the past three decades of filming. Carrie \u201cchanged homes, time zones, boyfriends, her mind, her shoes, her hair, but never her love and devotion to New York City,\u201d SJP wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has worn shame, pride, honor, optimism, and literally countless dresses, skirts, tutus. Held onto hands, hopes, and the very best of people,\u201d she continued. \u201cMiranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, there will never be better friends and what great fortune for Carrie to come to know and love Seema and LTW, most divine new connections. Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Compared to SJP\u2019s lengthy goodbye, the rest of the cast penned more tame farewells. \u201cI can\u2019t believe our wild beautiful And Just Like That ride is almost over. It has been such a delight from start to finish,\u201d Cynthia Nixon, who played Miranda Hobbes, wrote<\/a>. \u201cI will miss working with these people everyday SO incredibly much but know we will always be a part of each other\u2019s lives. Get ready for a lot more carousels in the weeks to come! And don\u2019t miss these last few episodes: surprises in store!\u201d<\/p>\n

Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte York, simply reposted the official statement<\/a> from King, adding, \u201cI am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever.\u201d Nicole Ari Parker<\/a>, who played Lisa Todd Wexley, a recent addition to the Sex and the City universe, also posted a tribute<\/a>. \u201cAn Honor and a Joy to be a part of this iconic family,\u201d she wrote. \u201cFrom the first day to the last\u2026it has been Just Like That\u2026Amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Kim Cattrall, who played horny PR mogul Samantha Jones in the original series and was absent<\/a> from the reboot, posted a sunset photo<\/a> on Instagram. \u201cIt\u2019s the end of a very long week \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udc8b,\u201d she captioned the colorful image. That it is!<\/p>\n
