According to reports, Davis was taken into custody on January 28, two weeks after Miami Gardens Police announced an active arrest warrant. The charges include battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping, all tied to an alleged October 27 incident at Tootsie\u2019s Cabaret in Miami Gardens.At a January 14 press conference, police outlined the scope of the investigation. \u201cAs a result of the diligent and hard work of our special victims unit, an arrest warrant has been issued for Gervonta Bryant Davis on the following charges \u2013 battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping,\u201d police said in a statement.Authorities stated that the investigation found Davis used force during the encounter. \u201cThe investigation determines that Mr Davis used force to restrain and attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will,\u201d the statement continued.Miami Gardens Police also confirmed cooperation with federal authorities. \u201cThe Miami Gardens Police Department is actively working with the United States Marshals Fugitive task force to locate and apprehend Mr Davis.\u201dSurveillance footage reviewed by investigators reportedly supported key aspects of the allegations.
