Gemini can also provide ETA updates, check schedules or even send messages hands-free, such as \u201cText Sarah I\u2019m 10 minutes behind\u201d to the cyclists.<\/p>\n<p>How the feature works<\/p>\n<p>In order to use the Gemini AI in Google Maps, users just need to tap on the Gemini icon present in the Maps interface or use the \u2018Hey Google\u2019 hotword. It is important to note that the hands-free prompts are designed to reduce distractions while walking or biking. Gemini also functions as a personal tour guide and offer local recommendations, historical context and real-time updates.
