{"id":443582,"date":"2026-01-30T19:02:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T19:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/443582\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T19:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T19:02:08","slug":"over-30000-bottles-of-prescribed-medications-recalled-nationwide-fda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/443582\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 30,000 bottles of prescribed medications recalled nationwide: FDA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UNDATED (WKRC) &#8211; Thousands of cartons and bottles of cholesterol medication have been recalled nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc. and AvKARE have voluntarily initiated nationwide recalls of their respective drug products due to quality concerns. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=98227\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA),<\/a> Zydus is recalling 22,896 bottles of Icosapent Ethyl capsules, 1 gram, distributed in 120-count bottles. <\/p>\n<p>The recall was initiated on Dec. 30, 2025, due to subpotency caused by oxidation from leakage, which may lead to inconsistent therapeutic effects and increased gastrointestinal side effects. <\/p>\n<p>The affected lot numbers are S2520304, S2520333, and S2540186, with expiration dates in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, AvKARE is recalling Rosuvastatin Tablets, USP, 10 mg, packaged in 50-tablet unit dose cartons, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=98246\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according to the FDA.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The recall was initiated on Dec. 31, 2025, due to the product being out of specification for dissolution. <\/p>\n<p>The affected lot number is 49124, with an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2026. <\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>Both recalls are ongoing, per the FDA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"UNDATED (WKRC) &#8211; Thousands of cartons and bottles of cholesterol medication have been recalled nationwide.
