After beating three of Britain\u2019s best heavyweights twice, Oleksandr Usyk is preparing to hang up the gloves.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian has fought across the world to hand defeats to Tyson Fury<\/a>, Anthony Joshua<\/a>, and Daniel Dubois<\/a> in his short heavyweight run.<\/p>\n

As a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, the 38-year-old has earned himself a place not just on the modern-day pound-for-pound list but also in conversations amongst all-time greats.<\/p>\n

Even though Usyk doesn\u2019t think he is number one<\/a> himself, his achievements since his 2012 Olympic gold medal win beg to differ.<\/p>\n

Former Gennady Golovkin trainer believes Oleksandr Usyk is the best of his generation<\/p>\n

Now he garners praise from not just fighters like Terence Crawford<\/a> but also the men behind the fighters.<\/p>\n

Boxing trainer Abel Sanchez was impressed by his brutal fifth-round Dubois knockout<\/a> and put him above any fighter from this era of boxing.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, the trainer said: \u201cI\u2019m fortunate enough to have had two pound-for-pound best fighters in my gym in my career. I hope that right down the line, we don\u2019t start getting these negative things like, well, it\u2019s a weak division.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always a weaker division to take credit away from where credit is due.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanchez spoke of how he would not compare him to fighters like Mike Tyson or Larry Holmes because of how different their eras were.<\/p>\n

But the former Gennady Golovkin trainer believes there is no one better and would rather he retire sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn his era, he is the cream of the crop; he has dominated everybody, he has beaten everybody, now, who he has got to beat is himself right now if he is not motivated,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe haters will always say there was a weak division\u2026 If he retired tomorrow, he would leave a great legacy. Hopefully, he doesn\u2019t stay around long enough to tarnish the legacy he has built up.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the WBO mandatory has been called, with Joseph Parker awaiting contact from the champion\u2019s team, a potential Fury trilogy took somewhat of a blow.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, after claiming he will come out of retirement, the \u2018Gypsy King\u2019 said he is \u2018too old\u2019 to box and will \u2018never\u2019 fight again.<\/p>\n

However, we may not see the current undisputed champion in the ring again, according to his former promoter, Alex Krassyuk.<\/p>\n

Speaking to World Boxing News<\/a>, Krassyuk said: \u201cI don\u2019t see him fighting anymore, at least in boxing,\u201d Krassyuk told WBN. \u201cHe has proved it all, there\u2019s nothing more to gain.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a friend, I will do my best to convince him to retire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their split was a shock before the \u2018Dynamite\u2019 rematch and led to speculation over the future of the fighter.<\/p>\n
