It is a good week for horror fans everywhere, as Sam Raimi<\/a>, one of the genre\u2019s most influential artists, is set to unveil his first film in four years. The movie in question, \u201cSend Help,\u201d<\/a> is an original horror-comedy thriller that promises to deliver the same combination of pitch-black humor, knowing absurdity and brutal violence that fans of Raimi\u2019s work have come to expect from him.<\/p>\n

While he dabbled lightly in horror in 2022\u2019s \u201cDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,\u201d \u201cSend Help\u201d marks Raimi\u2019s first real foray back to the genre since 2009\u2019s \u201cDrag Me to Hell.\u201d Fortunately, it is shaping up to be quite the return for the \u201cEvil Dead\u201d filmmaker.<\/p>\n

When does \u201cSend Help\u201d come out?<\/p>\n

\u201cSend Help\u201d is set to be released on Friday, Jan. 30.<\/p>\n

Is \u201cSend Help\u201d streaming?<\/p>\n

When it is released on Jan. 30, \u201cSend Help\u201d will only be available initially in movie theaters. The film does not yet have a streaming premiere date. As a 20th Century Studios release, it will eventually make its way to the VOD market and then, after that, to Hulu and Disney+, but it is currently unclear when that will be.<\/p>\n

Who is in the \u201cSend Help\u201d cast?<\/p>\n

\u201cGame Night\u201d and \u201cMean Girls\u201d star Rachel McAdams<\/a> leads \u201cSend Help.\u201d Dylan O\u2019Brien<\/a> (\u201cTwinless,\u201d \u201cTeen Wolf\u201d) stars opposite her as the film\u2019s co-lead. Thanks to the movie\u2019s deserted island setting, McAdams and O\u2019Brien are each other\u2019s only co-stars for much of its 113-minute runtime.<\/p>\n

That said, they are not the only actors who appear in \u201cSend Help.\u201d The film\u2019s supporting cast also includes Kristy Best (\u201cThe Wilds\u201d), Edyll Ismail (\u201cLa Brea\u201d), Dennis Haysbert (\u201cFar From Heaven\u201d), Xavier Samuel (\u201cElvis\u201d), Chris Pang (\u201cCrazy Rich Asians\u201d), Thaneth Warakulnukroh (\u201cThai Cave Rescue\u201d) and Emma Raimi (\u201cYear One\u201d).<\/p>\n

What is \u201cSend Help\u201d about?<\/p>\n

A survival horror thriller with a distinctly modern, corporate America twist, \u201cSend Help\u201d follows an oft-overlooked office employee (McAdams) who is routinely mistreated and mocked by her sexist boss (O\u2019Brien). The power dynamic between them is swiftly flipped upside down, however, when their business trip to Bangkok is interrupted by a plane crash that leaves them stranded together on a deserted island. The two consequently find themselves in a desperate fight for survival that is only further complicated by the growing tensions between them.<\/p>\n
