SPRINGFIELD \u2013\u00a0Missouri State women’s tennis lost a tough battle to Bradley with a 4-2 scoreline on Friday night at Cooper Tennis Complex.<\/p>\n
The No. 1 doubles tandem of sophomore Lucy Latham<\/a> and freshman Matilde Ercoli<\/a> emerged victorious with a 6-2 scoreline over Bradleys’ Anna Belogliadova and Valeriia Ivanovskaia.<\/p>\n But this was not enough as the Braves secured wins on the second and third courts to take the doubles point.<\/p>\n Missouri State fought back valiantly in singles play.<\/p>\n Freshman Elsie Jackson<\/a> was the first Bear to win a singles match on court six, overpowering Bradleys’ Amber Sharp, 6-4, 6-2.<\/p>\n On court 2 senior Billur Gonlusen<\/a> defeated Bradleys’ Mariia Pukhina in a marathon three-setter. After conceding the first set, Gonlusen fought back to win in stunning fashion, with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7- 4) scoreline.<\/p>\n On court No. 5, senior Raluca Puscas<\/a> fell to Bradley’s Ann Hsieh in another thrilling three-setter, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.<\/p>\n Senior Lucy Latham<\/a> was also locked in a brilliant third set matchup against Bradleys’ Valeriia Ivanovskaia. After conceding the first set in a tiebreak, Latham turned it around to take the second set right back in another tiebreak, 7-6 (3). But the match was cut short upon Bradley reaching 4 total points securing their victory.<\/p>\n Results
