The Dutchman said he had \u201ca different vision\u201d after losing Striek \u2014 even though he wanted to win everything, he wanted to enjoy his time on the court.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I win, nice. If I don\u2019t win, [that\u2019s] OK. I could be happy if I had fun on the court.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s my first Slam without Hans, so that\u2019s also very emotional.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vink also expressed admiration for downed compatriot Schroder after the match.<\/p>\n
\u201cSam is an amazing person. He won this one four in a row \u2026 it\u2019s insane.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember last year I was leading 5-2 and out of nowhere he said, OK, boom, boom, boom, 7-5 for him \u2026 I thought, what do I need to do?<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole match [today], it was so close and every game it was so close.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to make sure that my ball was that good [so] that Sam is not getting an opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels amazing to finally beat him here,\u201d Vink said with a laugh.<\/p>\n
