Cooper Flagg has rewritten NBA history. The 19-year-old Dallas Mavericks<\/a> rookie became the first teenager ever to record consecutive games with 30 points and 10 rebounds on January 29 and February 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

The No. 1 overall pick from Duke University achieved this milestone despite both losses for the Mavericks. This accomplishment surpasses all previous teenage records in NBA history.<\/p>\n

Cooper Flagg shatters teenage scoring records in historic 2-game stretch<\/p>\n

On January 29, 2026, Flagg set a new NBA record for points scored by a teenager in a single game, erupting for 49 points in a 123-121 loss to the Charlotte Hornets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Flagg was exceptionally efficient, shooting 20-of-29 (69%) from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. This performance surpassed the previous teenage scoring record<\/a> of 45 points set by Cliff Robinson in 1980.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the season, on December 15, 2025, Flagg had already broken<\/a> LeBron James’ specific record for an 18-year-old by scoring 42 points against the Utah Jazz<\/a>. James’ record was 37 points and it was set in 2003.<\/p>\n

Two days after his record-breaking 49-point game, Flagg continued his historic rookie run on January 31, 2026, recording 34 points and 12 rebounds in a 111-107 loss to the Houston Rockets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Playing 39 minutes, the 6-foot-9 forward shot 52% (13-of-25) and became the first teenager in NBA history to achieve consecutive 30-point double-doubles.<\/p>\n

Flagg scored 30 points for the fifth time this season, including 22 points in the first quarter alongside Brandon Williams, helping Dallas stay competitive after an early deficit.<\/p>\n

The teenager scored a total of<\/a> 83 points in two games, an unprecedented achievement for any player under 20. Flagg now ranks third among teenagers with 40-plus points, alongside Kevin Durant and LeBron James.<\/p>\n
