<\/p>\n MIAMI \u2014\u00a0FIU’s women’s tennis program kicked off its 2026 season with a 7-0 win over Syracuse at the PayCargo Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Panthers extended their home match winning streak to 35-straight with a convincing victory over the Orange on a cold, windy day in Miami. FIU remains undefeated at its new home for tennis, the PayCargo Tennis Center, having suffered its last home defeat on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n FIU earned the doubles point by securing wins on Courts 2 and 3 to take a 1-0 advantage. In singles, the Panthers won the first set in all six of their matches and had four straight set victories. Viktorie Hazmukova<\/a> make the score 2-0 in FIU’s favor with a one-sided 6-1, 6-2 win on Court 6. A short time later, Katerina Mandelikova<\/a>, who has moved into the top slot this season, dispatched her opponent, 6-3, 6-1. Jelena Vico<\/a>, playing at No. 2 singles, clinched the match for FIU with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.<\/p>\n Each court was played out to a decision as Aleksandra Simeva<\/a> closed out her match on Court 4, 6-0, 7-6. On Court 5, Maria Lucia Araoz-Gosn<\/a> outlasted her opponent, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. Vittoria Baccino<\/a> was the final Panther to claim victory, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 on Court 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n UP NEXT
