Infielder Eugenio Suarez<\/a> and the Cincinnati Reds<\/a> are in agreement on a one-year, $15 million deal, according to ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan.<\/p>\n

Passan adds the deal includes a mutual option for the 2027 season. He adds Suarez is expected to receive most of his at-bats as a designated hitter despite playing mostly third base last season.<\/p>\n

Slugger Eugenio Su\u00e1rez and the Cincinnati Reds are in agreement on a one-year, $15 million contract that includes a mutual option for the 2027 season, sources tell ESPN. The best bat left on the market goes to Cincinnati, where he’s expected to get most of his at-bats at DH.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old matched his career high with 49 home runs in 2025 while playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> and Seattle Mariners<\/a>. Suarez was traded from the D-Backs to the Mariners ahead of the trade deadline and was effective down the stretch of the regular season and in the playoffs. <\/p>\n

Suarez hit two home runs and drove in seven runs during the American League Championship Series against the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> and turned in a .956 OPS in the series as the Mariners fell in seven games. <\/p>\n

A native of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, Suarez spent seven seasons in Cincinnati from 2015 to 2022, matching his career-best with 49 homers as a Red in 2019. <\/p>\n

A veteran of 12 MLB seasons split between the Detroit Tigers<\/a>, Reds, Mariners and Diamondbacks, Suarez has 325 career home runs in 1,630 regular season games.<\/p>\n
