Voting was conducted by the league’s coaches over the past week.<\/p>\n James was the last player announced, as the league’s oldest player extended his record for both overall and consecutive selections by another season.<\/p>\n James was joined on the court at Madison Square Garden by three other All-Stars: starters Luka Doncic<\/a> and Jalen Brunson<\/a>, and fellow reserve selection Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a>.<\/p>\n Editor’s Picks<\/p>\n 2 Related<\/p>\n Those named alongside James were led by Houston Rockets<\/a> forward Kevin Durant<\/a>, whose 16th All-Star selection is fourth most all-time — breaking a tie with Hall of Famers Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett and placing him behind only the late Kobe Bryant (18), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19) and James.<\/p>\n Joining James and Durant as Western Conference reserve selections included a trio of first-time participants — Denver Nuggets<\/a> guard Jamal Murray<\/a>, Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a> forward Chet Holmgren<\/a> and Portland Trail Blazers<\/a> forward Deni Avdija<\/a> — plus Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> guard Anthony Edwards<\/a> (fourth) and Phoenix Suns<\/a> guard Devin Booker<\/a> (fifth).<\/p>\n In the Eastern Conference, Towns — making his sixth All-Star team — was joined by Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> guard Donovan Mitchell<\/a> (seventh selection), Indiana Pacers<\/a> forward Pascal Siakam<\/a> (fourth), Toronto Raptors<\/a> forward Scottie Barnes<\/a> (second) and a trio of first-time picks: Detroit Pistons<\/a> center Jalen Duren<\/a>, Miami Heat<\/a> guard Norman Powell<\/a> and Atlanta Hawks<\/a> forward Jalen Johnson<\/a>.<\/p>\n Under the NBA’s latest format change for the event, the 24 All-Star participants will be broken into three 8-man rosters — two featuring Americans, with the third made up of international players. They will each play two games, with the two teams with the best record — or the two with the best point differential if they all go 1-1 — facing each other in the championship game.<\/p>\n With these 24 players selected, NBA commissioner Adam Silver will now have to add at least one All-Star to replace Antetokounmpo, who will miss the game with a calf injury.
