McGill is looking to get the attention of CFL scouts in Waterloo. <\/p>\n

Powassan’s David McGill is one of six St. Francis\u00a0Xavier University student-athletes\u00a0who have been selected to participate in the Canadian Football League Combine events.\u00a0<\/p>\n

David McGill<\/a> is a 6’3″, 280-pound defensive lineman from Powassan who started in all eight games for the X-Men and recorded 23.0 tackles on the season, including 14 solo tackles and 18 assisted.<\/p>\n

A 2025 AUS all-star, David is a 5th-year\u00a0Public Policy & Governance student who averaged 2.9 tackles\/game and had 1.5 tackles for a loss of yards.<\/p>\n

McGill is invited to the CFL Invitational Combine in Waterloo on March 6.\u00a0The top prospects identified at the event will advance to Edmonton for the CFL Combine from March 27-29.<\/p>\n

The Powassan product is thrilled about the opportunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I just wanted to thank Jesus of course, without him I couldn\u2019t do it,” McGill told BayToday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It means a lot to be able to be invited to the CFL Combine, it’s\u00a0something special for sure, and I’m very happy about it. And I had the greatest time at STFX, it was a great career, and I am happy I went. I will miss it.”<\/p>\n

More than140 draft-eligible prospects are slated to showcase their skills for the league\u2019s general managers, coaches and player personnel in March during CFL Combine season.<\/p>\n

McGill was also invited last spring to compete in the East-West Bowl Game.<\/p>\n

However, an injury during training at the event kept him from competing in the game.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
