It&#8217;s a two-year deal through the 2027 season, Dunk added.<\/p>\n<p>He is expected to take over the backup role in Hamilton behind veteran QB Bo Levi Mitchell.  <\/p>\n<p>Ford, 27, was released by the Edmonton Elks on Friday. <\/p>\n<p>The Canadian started the 2025 season as the Elks&#8217; starting quarterback but lost the job to Cody Fajardo after a 1-4 start to the season.<\/p>\n<p>Ford was originally selected by Edmonton in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2022 CFL Draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 60 career games with the Elks, Ford passed for 4,651 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>Before his pro career, Ford was a standout at the University of Waterloo.
