Get ready to step back into the cutthroat world of Runway Magazine and the reign of Queen Miranda Priestly.\n<\/p>\n

So, when will the sequel drop? Who\u2019ll star in it? What does the trailer tell us? Here\u2019s all the tea we know so far.<\/p>\n

What is the release date of The Devil Wears Prada 2?<\/p>\n

In good news, it doesn\u2019t look like we\u2019re going to be waiting ages, because Disney has officially confirmed the movie will drop this year.<\/p>\n

Who will star in The Devil Wears Prada 2? <\/p>\n

Okay, this is where it gets spicy. Disney has confirmed the original core four are back<\/a>: Meryl Streep (Miranda Priestly, obviously), Anne Hathaway (Andy Sachs), Emily Blunt (Emily, the OG savage assistant), and Stanley Tucci (Nigel, our forever fashion zaddy).<\/p>\n

Anne<\/a> Hathaway reunited<\/a>\u00a0with Streep and Blunt at the 2024 SAG Awards, where Blunt quoted Miranda Priestley as she sarcastically quipped \u201cby all means, move at a glacial pace\u201d at Streep for taking too long to open the winner\u2019s envelope.<\/p>\n

Sir Kenneth Branagh (yes, the actual Oscar winner) is also joining the cast as Miranda\u2019s husband \u2014 you know, the one she threw some serious shade at in the first film. Apparently, things are still a bit icy at home for Miranda.<\/p>\n

So, if you were worried about a Hathaway-shaped hole in the sequel, you can relax \u2014 she\u2019s in, and so are the rest of the icons.<\/p>\n

In more exciting news, a plethora of fresh faces have been confirmed to be joining The Devil Wears Prada 2 cast alongside our fab four.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Per Variety<\/a>, the cast will include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet!!!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Y\u2019all, I\u2019m still stumped on Lucy Liu. Do you remember that one \u201cBarracuda\u201d scene in Charlie\u2019s Angels?<\/p>\n

Oh, we\u2019ll also be represented by Australia\u2019s own Patrick Brammall, whose involvement \u2014 seemingly as a love interest for Andy \u2014 was revealed when on-set images leaked<\/a> in August.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a> also reported that Bridgerton baddie Simone Ashley would be joining the cast as well as the Lady Gaga and even Bravo alum Paige DeSorbo. It\u2019s going to be a diva convention!! <\/p>\n

Original director David Frankel and producer Wendy Finerman are also returning, and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is back on script duties, per Collider<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Notably, Nate (Adrian Grenier) aka Andy\u2019s boyfriend and in my opinion her number one opp, is reportedly not returning<\/a> for the sequel, and I\u2019m gonna go out on a limb and say Andy is better for it.<\/p>\n

What will the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada be about?<\/p>\n

Given how the first movie ended (which was *chefs kiss*, by the way), you\u2019ve gotta wonder where things will go from here.<\/p>\n

Some fans are wondering if it\u2019ll follow the books, given Lauren Weisberger \u2014 who wrote The Devil Wears Prada novel that the film is based on \u2014 wrote her own sequel in 2016 titled Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s also written When Life Gives You Lululemons, which is centred on Blunt\u2019s character Emily (rather than Hathaway\u2019s Andy<\/a>).<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0reports from Deadline<\/a>, a sequel could feature a plot in which Priestly is still editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine years later, but the magazine is facing the wrath of the decline of the traditional publishing industry.<\/p>\n

She\u2019ll reportedly have to face off against none other than her former assistant Emily, who\u2019s now a powerful executive at a luxury brand after getting booted off that Paris trip. TLDR; Runway Magazine needs money and Emily\u2019s company\u2019s got it, so will Miranda Priestley manage to snag that deal? With Andy as the new features editor at Runway, as per the trailer, one can hope! <\/p>\n

Is there a trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2? <\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a looong 19 years (!!!) since the first film dropped in 2006 and we finally have a proper peep at what the second movie will be about! Andy is officially the new features editor at Runway, Miranda has completely forgotten about Andy\u2019s existence (allegedly) and Andy is spinning around on light poles in sparkly dresses, it\u2019s perfection! The fashion Gods have truly blessed us because last year we also got an official teaser that doubles as a nostalgia trip for the ages. In it, Miranda recreated the infamous walking-to-the-elevator scene from the original (you know, the one that birthed \u201cgird your loins\u201d), proving that even two decades away from the halls of Runway Magazine can\u2019t temper her fierce strut.<\/p>\n

This time, however, Priestly was joined by her prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Andy, who interrupted Miranda\u2019s elevator ride before the pair both put on their sunglasses. \u201cTook you long enough,\u201d Miranda said in the clip, reviving her infamous \u201cmove at a glacial pace\u201d quote from the first film.<\/p>\n

Though clocking in at under a minute, the teaser is as glossy, stylish and frankly, cunty, as the original. <\/p>\n

Beyond that teaser and the freshly released trailer, the only other morsel we\u2019ve gotten is a brief title card moment shared by 20th Century Studios earlier last year featuring a pitchfork-shaped stiletto.<\/p>\n
