Jelly Roll got religious as he was accepting the award for Best Contemporary Country Album at Sunday night\u2019s Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n
\u201cJesus is for everybody,\u201d said Jelly Roll, who won for his album \u201cBeautifully Broken.\u201d \u201cJesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jelly Roll, who also won for Best Country Duo\/Group Performance earlier in the night, started off his acceptance speech by thanking his \u201cbeautiful wife,\u201d podcaster Bunnie Xo.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to thank my beautiful wife,\u201d Jelly Roll said. \u201cI would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn\u2019t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
He then thanked his record label and country radio. <\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a time in my life, y\u2019all, that I was broken. That\u2019s why I wrote this album. I didn\u2019t think I had a chance, y\u2019all. There were days that I thought the darkest things. I was a horrible human. There was a moment in my life that all I had was a Bible this big,\u201d Jelly Roll said, while holding up a small Bible, \u201cand a radio the same size in a 6-by-8-foot cell, and I believed that those two things could change my life. I believed that music had the power to change my life and God had the power to change my life, and I want to tell y\u2019all right now, Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label.\u201d<\/p>\n
