\n\t\u201cStar Wars,\u201d Steven Spielberg and the Minions are getting ready for the Big Game as Hollywood taps the Super Bowl<\/a> to generate hype for several of its more anticipated blockbusters.<\/p>\n

\n\tDisney is expected to air a trailer for \u201cThe Mandalorian & Grogu,\u201d the first theatrical \u201cStar Wars\u201d film since 2019\u2019s \u201cThe Rise of Skywalker.\u201d It\u2019s also possible the company might release a spot for \u201cToy Story 5,\u201d one of the studio\u2019s summer releases. But there won\u2019t be trailers for \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d or Marvel\u2019s other upcoming superhero adventure, \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day.\u201d In fact, Sony, which releases the \u201cSpider-Man\u201d films, is sitting out the Super Bowl entirely, as are Netflix, Apple and Amazon\/MGM, according to people familiar with the studios\u2019 various plans.<\/p>\n

\n\tWarner Bros., which typically doesn\u2019t spend heavily in the Super Bowl, also isn\u2019t expected to have much of a presence during the game. However, DC Studios will tease \u201cSupergirl\u201d during the Puppy Bowl, which is airing on Animal Planet \u2014 a TV network owned by corporate parent Warner Bros. Discovery. Love that synergy!<\/p>\n

\n\tThe audience for the Super Bowl can\u2019t be matched, but studios may face some sticker shock when it comes to purchasing ads. NBC has sought between $7 million and more than $10 million for 30 seconds of ad time, making these promotions a costly expenditure.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat hasn\u2019t stopped Universal, which, like NBC, is owned by Comcast. The studio is expected to run trailers for Spielberg\u2019s alien invasion thriller \u201cDisclosure Day<\/a>,\u201d as well as \u201cThe Super Mario Galaxy Movie\u201d and \u201cMinions 3.\u201d Yet Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d which Universal is producing, won\u2019t be launching any new materials. <\/p>\n

\n\tParamount, which was recently purchased by David Ellison\u2019s deep-pocketed Skydance, will launch a trailer for \u201cScream 7\u201d during the gridiron festivities.<\/p>\n

\n\tThen there\u2019s Lionsgate, which may use NBC\u2019s hours of pre-game coverage to tout \u201cMichael,\u201d its upcoming biopic about Michael Jackson.
