{"id":451087,"date":"2026-02-03T11:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T11:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/451087\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T11:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T11:46:08","slug":"boeser-and-hoglander-out-until-after-nhls-olympic-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/451087\/","title":{"rendered":"Boeser and H\u00f6glander out until after NHL\u2019s Olympic break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the <a class=\"text-accent\" href=\"https:\/\/canucksarmy.com\/vancouver-canucks-line-combinations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> embark on a final mini road trip before the Olympic break, they will be doing without two of their top-nine forwards.Ahead of their Monday night game against the <a class=\"text-accent\" href=\"https:\/\/canucksarmy.com\/news\/scenes-morning-skate-lankinen-starts-garland-probable-vancouver-canucks-open-road-trip-utah-mammoth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Utah Mammoth,<\/a> Canucks Head Coach <a class=\"text-accent\" href=\"https:\/\/canucksarmy.com\/news\/vancouver-canucks-foote-offers-explanation-lekkerimaki-3rd-period-benching-toronto-maple-leafs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adam Foote<\/a> confirmed the club would be without wingers Brock Boeser and Nils H\u00f6glander for the road trip, and thus will be out until after the Olympic break.<\/p>\n<p>You can watch Foote\u2019s answer at the 1:55 minute mark below:<\/p>\n<p>Boeser last appeared for the Canucks on January 25, in a matinee match against the Pittsburgh Penguins. As the Canucks were trying to mount a three-goal, third period comeback, Boeser was at the netfront chaos, waiting to bury the loose puck if it became available. Penguins forward Bryan Rust skated through the slot area and made direct contact with Boeser\u2019s head on a hit, and left the Canuck forward down on the ice as time expired.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"text-accent\" href=\"https:\/\/canucksarmy.com\/news\/nhl-suspends-bryan-rust-3-games-hit-head-vancouver-canucks-brock-boeser\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rust was suspended for three games for his actions<\/a>. Monday night\u2019s game against the Ottawa Senators will be the final of Rust\u2019s three-game suspension. He will be eligible to return for the Penguins\u2019 two final games \u2013 against the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres \u2013 before the Olympic break, while Boeser remains out for his team\u2019s final two games.<\/p>\n<p>Canucks fans haven\u2019t seen H\u00f6glander since January 27, against the San Jose Sharks. He managed to finish the contest, but finished with the lowest ice time of any Canuck forward. His last shift came with under seven minutes today, where he appeared to be ailing after engaging with a Sharks defenceman on the forecheck.<\/p>\n<p>H\u00f6glander missed the Canucks\u2019 first 29 games of the season after suffering a lower-body injury that required surgery in the second preseason game.
