The president\u2019s daughter-in-law and occasional singer Lara Trump has called music icon Bruce Springsteen an \u201cidiot\u201d for releasing his ICE protest song.<\/p>\n

Springsteen, who has been a vocal critic<\/a> of President Donald Trump, released a new song called \u201cStreets of Minneapolis\u201d<\/a> that pays tribute to people shot by federal agents and calls out the \u201clies\u201d of the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

The lyrics include \u201cTwo dead left to die on snow-filled streets, Alex Pretti and Renee Good,\u201d as well as calling out \u201cKing Trump\u201d and his \u201cprivate army from the DHS.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the latest episode of her podcast The Right View<\/a>, Trump, who is married to the president\u2019s son Eric, plays footage of \u201cStreets of Minneapolis\u201d while she reacts to Springsteen\u2019s lyrics in real time.<\/p>\n

After claiming it was \u201cpretty rough to get through\u201d and mocking his lyric about a \u201cbloody mist\u201d on the streets, Trump, 43, asks Springsteen, \u201cWhat are you talking about?\u201d<\/p>\n

She then states she can\u2019t recall the superstar musician writing \u201ca song for those who have actually been killed by illegal aliens\u201d or the people \u201cwho are poisoned by fentanyl that comes across our southern border.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen\u2019s Bruce Springsteen writing that song? How about the people down at the Texas facility, the border patrol agents who were fired upon by a domestic terrorist? When did he write that song? That\u2019s right, he didn\u2019t do that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Trump\u2014who hosts her own show on Fox News\u2014then claimed that \u201ca person with a platform\u201d like Springsteen\u2019s \u201cwould use it to do good, calm people down, maybe bring us together a little bit. All that does is divide people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The podcast host then defended the ICE raids in Minneapolis and across America and slammed protesters who want to \u201cimpede a legitimate law enforcement operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Bruce Springsteen has this big a problem with enforcing our federal law, hey Bruce, go talk to the United States Congress,\u201d Trump says.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese people who think it\u2019s a great idea to get out and impede a federal law operation, which is exactly what\u2019s going on in Minneapolis, what\u2019s gone on all over this country, by the way, for about a year now\u2026 if you think that\u2019s a good idea, I\u2019m sorry to tell you, you are an idiot. It is a terrible idea always.\u201d<\/p>\n

In reference to the killings<\/a> of Good and Pretti last month after being shot by federal agents, she said, \u201cNo one should be dead right now. Unfortunately things happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The podcast host then suggested that Springsteen, 76, should ask Congress to change the laws in America \u201cif you have a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t blame Stephen Miller. Don\u2019t blame Kristi Noem. Don\u2019t blame Donald Trump. Go talk to the people who actually put the laws of the land in place.\u201d<\/p>\n

But she said Springsteen would \u201cnever\u201d do that, \u201cbecause he\u2019s very comfortable in his mansion, on his private jet, virtue-signaling like this, and putting out some ridiculous song like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump apologized for airing his song, saying, \u201cI\u2019m sorry everyone had to endure that.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the release of Springsteen\u2019s song, the White House said<\/a> it was unbothered by \u201crandom songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Daily Beast has contacted reps for Springsteen for comment.<\/p>\n

Trump opened her podcast with her controversial cover version of Tom Petty\u2019s \u201cI Won\u2019t Back Down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her father-in-law used Petty\u2019s hit 1989 song at a rally<\/a> in Tulsa in 2020, which led to the late musician\u2019s family issuing a cease-and-desist order.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump was in no way authorized to use this song to further a campaign that leaves too many Americans and common sense behind,\u201d the family of the rocker, who died in 2017, said in a statement<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n

Lara Trump went viral when footage of her singing Petty\u2019s hit at Trump\u2019s Westchester golf club last demonstrated her vocal talents outside of the studio.<\/p>\n

Her most recent release, \u201cSah-Sah,\u201d has had 22,000 listens on Spotify, where she has 19,000 monthly listeners.<\/p>\n

Last May, President Trump hit back<\/a> at Springsteen, who had been criticizing him overseas, calling him \u201cHighly Overrated.\u201d<\/p>\n
