<\/p>\nCanadian businessman Kevin O\u2019Leary\u00a0is slamming singer Billie Eilish over her \u201cstolen land\u201d anti-ICE comment at the Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs grateful as I feel, I honestly don\u2019t feel like I need to say anything, but, that no one is illegal on stolen land,\u201d\u00a0Eilish, 24, said on stage Sunday as she received the award for song of the year.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now,\u201d the singer continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I just I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter,\u201d Eilish said.<\/p>\n

The remark has led to criticism from the Tongva Tribe<\/a>, an aboriginal tribe of the Los Angeles Basin referred to as the First Angelenos. The Tongva said her L.A. mansion was located on their \u201cancestral land,\u201d in a statement to Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n O\u2019Leary weighed in on the matter on Tuesday, telling Fox News on its America Reports<\/a> segment that he felt sorry for celebrities who \u201cwander into this kind of thing without doing at least a basic AI search.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe got torched but, you know, do your homework first,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very optimistic that from this something good will happen. I\u2019m not sure what happens to her. I say this to entertainers: \u2018Half the people in politics that you piss off won\u2019t buy your music anymore. Don\u2019t be stupid about it.\u2019 But hey, they don\u2019t listen.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Leary continued: \u201cWell, I know her agents are going out of their minds. I mean it\u2019s the first lesson 101 for celebrity. As you rise up, whether you\u2019re a film star or music star, whatever, shut your mouth and just entertain.\u201d<\/p>\n The Tongva Tribe told Fox News<\/a> that Eilish has not contacted them directly regarding her property and they do \u201cvalue the instance when Public Figures provide visibility to the true history of this country.\u201d The tribe said it reached out to the singer\u2019s team to express its \u201cappreciation for her comments.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands that the greater Los Angeles basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n Daily Mail reports<\/a> that the 10-time Grammy Award winner<\/a> lives in a $3-million home.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, a law firm in Los Angeles offered to evict Eilish from her residence pro bono on behalf of the Tongva Tribe.<\/p>\n \u201cEilish\u2019s admission that she lives on stolen land gives the tribe a rightful action for possession as the true owner of the property.
