Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/al-jardine\/\" id=\"auto-tag_al-jardine\" data-tag=\"al-jardine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Al Jardine<\/a> and veteran members of Brian Wilson\u2019s touring band have spent the past several months playing the vast majority the 1977 oddball <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/beach-boys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_beach-boys\" data-tag=\"beach-boys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Beach Boys<\/a> LP The Beach Boys Love You at venues across the United States. The shows have been magnificent, but hardcore fans have yearned to see them perform the album in full by breaking out the missing songs \u201cMona,\u201d \u201cLet\u2019s Put Our Hearts Together,\u201d and \u201cLove Is a Woman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThey\u2019re going to get their wish Feb. 27 when Al Jardine and the Pet Sounds Band stages a special show at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, which will feature the \u201cworld premiere\u201d of The Beach Boys Love You in full. (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axs.com\/events\/1320730\/al-jardine-and-the-pet-sounds-band-tickets\">Tickets<\/a> are available now.)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tJardine sang lead on the Love You song \u201cHonkin\u2019 Down the Highway,\u201d but had little creative role in creating the album. \u201cCarl Wilson was guiding Brian through the process of making the record,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/%E2%80%9CCarl%20Wilson%20was%20guiding%20Brian%20through%20the%20process%20of%20making%20the%20record,%E2%80%9D%20he%20says.%20%E2%80%9CAnd%20you%E2%80%99ll%20hear%20a%20lot%20of%20Dennis%20on%20there.%20Mike%20and%20I%20came%20in%20and%20basically%20filled%20in%20the%20harmonies%20on%20the%20backgrounds.%20That%20was%20about%20it.%E2%80%9D\" target=\"_blank\">Jardine told Rolling Stone<\/a> last year when we stopped by the kickoff of his tour with the Pet Sounds Band. \u201cAnd you\u2019ll hear a lot of Dennis on there. Mike and I came in and basically filled in the harmonies on the backgrounds. That was about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe special Los Angeles Love You show is co-produced by Alex Jules, a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who has toured with the Monkees, Wings\/Moody Blues founding member Denny Laine, and Badfinger\u2019s Joey Molland. Last year, he organized the L.A. wildfire relief concert titled Let\u2019s Get L.Aid. The bill included \u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic, Eric Idle, Nancy Sinatra, Paul Shaffer, Rufus Wainwright, and Jardine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cIn the aftermath, some of the folks from Al\u2019s camp inquired about my interest in working with him as everyone was excited to do the show and see the positive results,\u201d Jules tells Rolling Stone. \u201cAfter spending some time discussing ways to work together, I had the idea to do a Los Angeles concert to fully celebrate this new Al Jardine &amp; the Pet Sounds Band show by having them do a world premiere of the full Love You album in concert.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe timing is perfect since it lines up with the release of the box set<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/beach-boys-adult-child-we-gotta-groove-box-set-1235502528\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> We Gotta Groove: The Brother Studio Years,<\/a> which chronicles the period around The Beach Boys Love You in incredible detail. \u201cFans can expect not only the world premiere of Love You by a founding member of the Beach Boys in its entirety (49 years after its release!),\u201d says Jules, \u201cbut also selections from 15 Big Ones and Adult\/Child as well as all of the Beach Boys hits \u2014 masterfully recreated by Brian Wilson\u2019s band and Al Jardine, whose voice sounds remarkably unaffected by time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis isn\u2019t the only Jardine show on the books for this year. He begins a<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljardine.com\/shows\"> tour with the Pet Sounds Band <\/a>in Stateline, Nevada, on Feb. 21. It includes stops in Jacksonville, Florida; Clearwater, Florida; Sarasota, Florida; Collingswood, New Jersey; and Ridgefield, Connecticut before they head to Australia in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe plan is to play nearly all of Love You at these shows.
