{"id":455485,"date":"2026-02-05T13:01:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T13:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/455485\/"},"modified":"2026-02-05T13:01:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T13:01:07","slug":"eatonias-john-stevens-to-showcase-skills-for-cfl-scouts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/455485\/","title":{"rendered":"Eatonia&#8217;s John Stevens to showcase skills for CFL scouts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After capturing the Canadian Bowl title this past season to cap his career with the Saskatoon Hilltops,\u00a0Eatonia&#8217;s Johnathon Stevens is attempting to tackle the next level, the defensive lineman expected to start that process with the 2026 Invitational Combine in Waterloo, Ontario coming up in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Stevens will be one of 77 players in attendance on March 6 vying for an invite to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/combine\/2026-cfl-invitational-combine\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 CFL Combine<\/a> in Edmonton. The Hilltops star defensive lineman is part of a list including fellow CJFL players, but mostly USPORTS athletes that are aiming to join the 70 prospects already invited to the official event taking place Mar. 28 and 29.<\/p>\n<p>The players who advance to Edmonton will be able to showcase their talents in front of all nine CFL teams ahead of the CFL Draft a month later on April 28.
