{"id":455919,"date":"2026-02-05T17:55:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T17:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/455919\/"},"modified":"2026-02-05T17:55:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T17:55:07","slug":"bo-bo-bumble-raf-goofs-announces-nickal-not-bassett-for-raf07","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/455919\/","title":{"rendered":"Bo-Bo bumble: RAF goofs, announces Nickal, not Bassett, for RAF07"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a peak 2026 combat sports moment, <a href=\"https:\/\/mmajunkie.usatoday.com\/fighters\/bo-nickal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Bo Nickal;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Bo Nickal<\/a> will not headline RAF07 in March \u2013 which the promotion announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>About 15 minutes after MMA Junkie published a story announcing Nickal vs. Vladimer Khinchegashvili for the RAF07 main event following a news release from the promotion itself, another news release arrived.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Bo Nickal will not wrestle Khinchegashvili at the event; Bo Basset, however, will.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please accept our apologies for the incorrect information that was shared earlier this morning,&#8221; the promotion&#8217;s amended news release started.<\/p>\n<p>RAF07 still is set for March 28 at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla. \u2013 not Tampa, Kan., or Tampa, Colo.<\/p>\n<p>Bassett is 2-0 for RAF with wins over Cayden Henschel and former Bellator standout Darrion Caldwell. Khinchegashvili, won the 2016 Olympic gold medal for Georgia and silver in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Also on the card, cruiserweight champion Kyle Dake will defend against 2024 NCAA champion Parker Keckeisen. And women&#8217;s middleweight champ Kennedy Blades takes on Milana Dudieva, who makes her promotional debut. And Kyle Snyder meets Bahrainian 2024 Olympic gold medalist Akhmed Tazhudinov.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This event is a clear snapshot of where RAF is right now,&#8221; RAF CEO Chad Bronstein said in a release. &#8220;You&#8217;re seeing the sport&#8217;s top athletes competing in matchups that simply weren&#8217;t possible before. Bringing RAF07 to Tampa Bay lets us keep building momentum in a first-class arena while continuing to show what a true professional home for wrestling looks like.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RAF06 takes place Feb. 28. in Tempe, Ariz. That show is headlined by retired former UFC fighters Henry Cejudo and Urijah Faber.
