During his travels, Teeling has earned both UEFA A and Canada Soccer A licence \u2014 among the most highly regarded coaching certifications in the soccer world.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy experience working in Ireland, Canada, the U.S.A. and Australia has given me a wide recruiting network and exposure to every level of the game, from grassroots and recreational football to professional academies and senior semi-professional environments,\u201d Teeling said in a press release from the university. \u201cI\u2019ve been fortunate to serve in a variety of roles across that journey, including assistant coach, head coach, technical director, analyst and boys and girls program leadership, which has shaped how I build programs and support athletes in different settings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teeling said his most recent stop with one of Canada\u2019s premier amateur clubs has been among the most rewarding.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMy time with TSS Rovers has been pivotal. Competing at the top of League1 BC \u2014 including multiple second-place finishes and winning the league and playoffs double in 2024 \u2014 and earning the chance to compete in the Canadian Championship against professional opposition such as Valour and Pacific reinforced what high standards, clear identity and togetherness can achieve,\u201d he explained. \u201cThose experiences have given me a strong foundation to help build a university program from the ground up and support young men in maximizing their potential on and off the field.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also take a lot of pride in developing young players and helping them push on toward the professional ranks. Creating an environment where players can grow, earn opportunities and take the next step in their careers is a big part of why I coach and it will be a key focus of what we build at Laurentian. Continuous learning is a core part of my coaching approach. I\u2019ve completed coaching licences through the FAI and Canada Soccer, alongside ongoing higher education opportunities that continue to shape my thinking around leadership, player development and performance. The game keeps evolving and I believe coaches have to evolve with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

LU athletic director Peter Hellstrom said Teeling\u2019s appointment is a combination of success and potential.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really excited to bring Brendan into the Voyageurs family,\u201d Hellstrom said. \u201cHe knows what it takes to win at one of the highest levels and he also has experience at the OUA and U Sports level, playing and coaching at Windsor while he completed his masters. So the university game and all that comes with it are not foreign to him. Brendan gets to come in and continue building off of the great foundation that Tony and his staff have laid before him. I can\u2019t wait to see where the next chapter of our men\u2019s soccer program leads.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laurentian posted a record of 2-7-3 in OUA play this past season, Tagliafierro\u2019s fourth with the team as head coach.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m excited to meet the players, staff and faculty and I can\u2019t wait to get started. My vision is simple: recruit well, develop strong student-athletes and contend in the OUA. I want our teams to win, entertain and be aggressive and hard to play against \u2014 organized without the ball, brave on it and relentless in our work ethic.\u201d<\/p>\n
