Daniel Suarez has been defended by his wife after his foul-mouthed reaction over the team radio during the Cook Out Clash was posted by a NASCAR reporter.<\/p>\n
Suarez has since explained that his incident with Wallace was a misunderstanding, but he called out former teammate Van Gisbergen during the race. A reporter posted quotes from team radios during the race, starting with Van Gisbergen.<\/p>\n
“Is the 7 (Daniel Suarez) beefing with everyone?” The reporter wrote, quoting Van Gisbergen. They then added Suarez’s reply, “I’m going to kick his f—— ass. Tell (SVG) I’m coming for him.”<\/p>\n
Suarez’s wife, Julia Piquet, saw the post and attempted to provide some clarity on the situation. “If you\u2019re going to quote drivers at least be accurate,” she wrote on X.<\/p>\n
“First part was referring to the s— BW (Wallace) was pulling after the caution came out. He actually said ‘tell the 23 spotter if he pulls that s— one more time I\u2019m going to kick his a–.’ And then he said ‘I\u2019m coming for the 97.'”<\/p>\n
However, Suarez later explained that he had no bad feelings toward Wallace, but the same couldn’t be said for Van Gisbergen. “With Bubba, it was just a misunderstanding.” Suarez said. “With Bubba, it wasn\u2019t a big deal. He doesn\u2019t know that yet.”<\/p>\n
Suarez then admitted that he was mad at others on the race track, but not Wallace. Suarez then appeared to reference Van Gisbergen when asked about his aggressive racing style.<\/p>\n
“I race people the same way they race me.” Suarez said, “I love everyone. If they give me love, I give them love. If they give me hate, I give hate.”<\/p>\n
Suarez admitted that he had crossed the line on occasions, but then specifically addressed Van Gisbergen and his actions during the race. “We know where is the line,” he said.<\/p>\n
“He did a couple of things that I didn\u2019t like.
